I did an upgrade & contract extension this morning from a Sidekick; I don't see how adding a "feature" would bar them from selling a unit to you. Someone else just posted the outright price w/o signing a contract to be $429.

I got my upgrade first thing this morning. 349.99 with 50 mail in rebate ($299) for 2yr extension and I had a 7290 previously.

I called the 800 sales line for tmobile and they said they wouldnt be available for upgrades over the phone yet. So, screw it, went over the store with no hassles or problems! They only had 35 left.

Default I Got It!!

Just picked up my new BB8700G everyone!

Sorry to hear you guys are having such problems...

I live in Connecticut, and I picked up a unit there, just now.

IT IS Available for upgrade...and I payed $349.99 + 6% Sales Tax for a UPGRADE 1 year contract

If you sign a 2 year contract, you are eligible for a mail in rebate of $50.00

Just got this quote from Denver, CO tmo store.

Outright... $500-$530
1 year... $469
2 year... $399

Others are reportedly getting it for $350 for 1 yr upgrade and even no upgrade in the other thread.

Got mine here in Minneapolis, MN. They can do upgrades and new, although the guy had to dig to find the upgrade pricing. $399 on the 2 year before a $50 rebate, and should have another $50 rebate from the T-Mobile Platinum Rewards program as well. Release the hounds!!!

...for new activation. It doesn't show details for upgrades or users with existing activation.

You can do upgrades now, it all depends on the dealer if they would sell it just for an upgrade due to the fact that most stores have only a limited supply of these handsets and we would prefer selling it with an activation.

Search some of the other forums. They are doing upgrades for as low as $179 with a two year contract extension. Haggle enough, and threaten to move service (if out of contract) and it can be yours for not so much.
