Default Bizarre Question

Please Login to Remove!

So far, so good with my 8700g that I've had for about a month now. However, I am running into one bizarre situation that I can't figure out. Its also extremely random.

Last Friday I got a phone call from a real estate agent (we are selling our home). I have made and received numerous calls since Friday.

At least four or five times a day, my phone calls this real estate agent. My phone locks upon holstering but I pull it out and it will automatically call her.
I lay it on my desk out of the holster and I'll hear her on the other end yelling at me.

Needless to say, this is embarrasing. I have gone into the call log and deleted her number everytime this has happened thinking that maybe upon holstering it was pressing the dedicated send key and redialing.

Again, I know this sounds really bizarre and I can't think of why it is happening. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated before this real estate agent swears out a warrant for harrassment.

And you do not have a speed dial key assigned to her number? If you turn off Dial From Home Screen (Phone > Options > General Options), does it still occur?

My 7280 did this when I had an aftermarket earpiece with an answer button. You using one of those?

Bizarre Answer:

I have a pet goat. He can read the newspaper. He finds the New York Times pretentious, but oh so tasty.

No, she is not on my speed dial and I did have the dial from home screen off and it did it, but not as frequently (I tried that on Sunday). Thanks for brainstorming with me though.

I am using a Motorola H500, but it happens mostly when I'm away from my bluetooth piece with the earpiece off.

Ok. I'm an idiot.

So, after calling this real estate agent about 20 more times the last couple of days, I went step by step through just about everything.

I owe blenahan an apology. When you asked if I had assigned her as a speed dial, I said no because I never purposefully assigned her to a speed dial key.

When I actually looked at my speed dial list, low and behold, there was the number assigned to the letter P.

Why P, you ask? Because I'm an idiot. I own the Milante Hydrofoam case that is advertised as fitting the 8700g. As discussed in several threads, the sleeper function does not work properly. Part of that is the magnet positioning and part of that is that the case actually presses some of the keys, particularly the P key.

So, I must have assigned her to the P key when putting it in my case.

Thanks again to everyone. Problem solved. (And a stalking charge abated).
