I found a slip of paper in my pocket with a phone number on it. I knew I had written it, but couldn't remember whose number it was. So I did a SEARCH, put the number in, and selected Contacts. It didn't find anything.

Later in the day, I realized who it was, and that the person and that phone number are on the BB. I verified the number, redid the search to make sure it was correct, and it still didn't find it

Why doesn't search find telephone numbers within contact info?

I running version 4.00.198 on a 7100G, using Outlook 2003

I have this problem with a 7100t as well and I haven't been able to zero in on the problem. I think that consistently it does not find entries without email addresses, but it's more than that. I also found this week that when I entered a contact in Outlook 2002 P3 without an email address, it wouldn't sync with the BB -until I added an email address. Weird. I guess we just have excellent email devices that sort of do other things sort of well.

I only have a text and name field as options. Do you have a number field?

What i do if I have a number that I'm not sure of and I want to check if its in my address book, I just dial it press send, then end right after it initiates the call. Call doesn't go through but if you have the number, it will display it along with the name of the contact, and what number it is (mobile, home, etc.)

I also only have text and name fields, but i just assumed that there would be the ability to search any information within Contact. Guess not

That's normally a safe assumption, even expectation. FWIW, you can enter and search for a number in the text field; it'll find it if the number is in the Notes part of your contact record.

Any ideas on why names and numbers entered in Outlook would not sync/transfer to the 7100t until I entered email addresses in the records? Thanks.
