Default Mp3 Ringtones

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am using the blackberry from the past 3 days and when i copy the mp3 files to " Media Card> Blackberry >Music " i can use it only when i want to play these files but if i want to set these files as my ringtones i am unable to as there is no option to go to this folder, then i have to place the same files under Media Card> Blackberry >Ringtones (because of this its eating up my space on 1 gig card).

I am not sure if i am missing anything out here.Is BB designed to be in this way that files in a particular folder will be a ringtone or music file?

I tried to do a Search before i posted this but was not able to find any solution,i am sorry if i missed out on

Appreciate any help.

Thanks
Zaveed

It can be annoying, yes.

I use the stock Message tones, and I don't mind not having custom tunes for different people.

If you go to Menu -> Media -> Music, and highlight the song you want to use, hit Menu once again, and select Set As Phone Tune.

This will change your default ringtone to whatever song you selected.

There is no way to access the Music folder and set as the phone's ringer any other way that I know of.

You could just save your music to the ringtone folder on your SD card. You can still play the songs from there and that way you get to use those songs as ringtones, too.

I make short ringtones (about 15 seconds each) using a freeware program Audacity. You can pick any part of the song too.
