Default Syncing IMAP: computer->BB not working right

Please Login to Remove!

I'm attempting to sync my BB (8130, Verizon) to my work email which is IMAP. When I delete email on the BlackBerry, it is quickly deleted on my desktop client. However, when I delete things on the desktop, the item stays on the Blackberry. Any idea how to fix this, cause it's kind of annoying.

I'm using BIS and the Email Reconciliation settings on the Pearl are as follows:
Delete On: Prompt
Wireless Reconcile: On
On Conflicts: Mailbox Wins

Thanks, ahead of time.

I have been using IMAP for a while.. and it seems that it's just how it works.

The BB inbox doesn't act like a "true" IMAP inbox...

Yes - I think the "imap" implementation on the Blackberry is rather simple - in that it just pushes new messages to the phone and doesn't really reconcile them. I could be wrong - but this was my experience when I was using IMAP.

For the record - it doesn't seem to do this now that I am on BES either. If I delete something from my desktop - it still sits in the inbox on my phone. But, read, forward and reply status seems to come back to my desktop from the phone.

That is correct. The IMAP works from PC to PC so that all the PC's pulling the email from the server get the same results. Read on one will mark read on the other.

The problems is that BIS is not using IMAP. It uses POP, so all it is doing is pulling the email to the BB. If the server allows responces from the BB it will delete the email also. There is no "true" reconciliation between the BB and BIS. For the BES to delete from the BB, I believe you will need to do a reconciliation to remove those that have been removed from the desktop. I don't think it is automatic.
