Talking finally figure it out

I bought a "Ref" 8820 recently from ATT. I got the same Wifi problem as many of you are having. After going through many blogs, I finally find the way that works for me.

ATT intentionaly make the Wifi service depend on their data service, which mean you can only use Wifi when data service is on. When you have data service (edge) turned on, all application will search for edge network. Only when edge network is not available, it will then turn to wifi.
(What a innovative way to add revenue for ATT !)

To walkaround this dirty trick done. You can do the following. This will completly disable your data network service, and only use wifi.

-----------------------------

this is a brute force way of making wifi work

go to
Options->Advanced Options->TCP

remove all the fields for

APN:
Usrname for APN
Password for APN

you can save it for future use

then get back to the main menu, switch on your wifi. also make sure your data service is turn on.

now open a browser and test it.
----------------------

I tested this and verify that the data traffic will only go through the wifi network.

Good luck

Default Blackberry 8820 issues with router?

I need help. I just installed a linksys router (wrt110) at home. I tried setting up this on my blackberry and my blackberry crashed. Now my blackberry is running in a loop to restart. I don't know what to do and I don't know if I am explaining my problem correctly either. Is there anyone who knows what I am talking about and how to fix this?

Please help.
