any of these by chance? i'm with McKinneyCM on the 8900/95xx cable. It's likely someone decided to return the device and swapped the cable with the wrong one and nobody noticed.

It's like mini A on the end that goes into the phone and Type A for the bit that goes into the computer.

does the end of the usb look like the end of the charger cable?

This is the Blackberry logo. It doesn't tell you what type of USB you have, though. It does say that you have a Blackberry cable.

I still think that the charger has the wrong USB tip on it. It should be Mini USB. You're describing something long and thin, which sounds like a Micro USB connector like this one:



The Mini and Micro look very similar, but aren't. Bimmerdood's photo from Mobileburn.com doesn't look like a Mini USB on the right. Maybe it is, but doesn't look to me like the one above. You should be using a USB Mini connector.

Are the small connectors on your two cables the same on (1) your wall charger and (2) the PC to Blackberry cable? Is one a Mini USB connector and one a Micro connector?

Anyway, as someone else suggested, maybe you should take some photos of your cables and post them so we can see what you're describing. It should be pretty straightforward to connect and charge up. No tears needed.

Just spoken to O2 they are going to send me a new one. They apologised and said that there must be something wrong with my phone and also they did send me the wrong USB cable. Thanks for all your help though
