Default webbrowser is not using Wireless accespoint

Please Login to Remove!

Hello fellow admins,

For a couple of months now i have running a BES Server with 6 devices.
I have setup wireless profiles and that is working fine, i can see the wireless is detected and connected. But when i start up an internet browser the wireless access point icon disappears and it seems it is connecting using the telecom provider data connection. Does anyone know of a policy or setting that is responsible for this behavior?

Thanks,

Francis

Which OS version is on that devices? In earlier versions you have to explicitely choose the "Hotspot" browser.

So that's a 9900 then. I have never seen that happen. On an 9900 on BES, you can normally browse via WiFi.

I would setup a test user with a blank IT policy and test again.

There is an IT policy to force browsing to go through MDS-CS but that would still go via WiFi.

Ok this is strange and maybe its a bug.

When you put bookmarks under startpage and then open that bookmark from that startpage its using your celluar data instead of your wifi accespoint....

I have tested it on a different device same results.

Maybe a bug?

Ahh, but that depends which heading you have the Bookmark under. If you have a book mark under the "WAP Browser" heading, it will always go through the cellular connection.

You must add the bookmark under "Blackberry Bookmarks".
