Auto-away on Idle and Holstered appears to be malfunctioning. Some people have reported success by resetting the device after changing the setting. This and a number of other bugs fall into the 'Alerts & Notifications' bug category that at some point will receive a major overhaul.

Cingular 7290
Cellular Plan: ?
Options -> Ramble IM -> Network Connection: Use Device TCP
Options -> Ramble IM -> TOC Host & Port: to.oscar.aol.com:8080
TCP Configured (Yes/No): yes

APN: wap.cingular
Username for APN: [email address]
Password for APN: CINGULAR1
This also depends on wheter or not you work for Cingular. Myself and several others found this out yesterday. We are connected to our BES, and had to set things up like this:

Cingular 7290
Cellular Plan: ?
Options -> Ramble IM -> Network Connection: Use Device TCP
Options -> Ramble IM -> TOC Host & Port: toc.oscar.aol.com:1290 - This is only change we made.
TCP Configured (Yes/No): yes

APN: wap.cingular
Username for APN: [email address]
Password for APN: CINGULAR1

I know it's a little thing but it can be frustrating when attempting to ge this program working. Thanks Barney for the tip!

Verizon 7250
Cellular Plan: Verizon unlimited data
Options -> Ramble IM -> Network Connection: Use Device TCP
Options -> Ramble IM -> TOC Host & Port: toc.oscar.aol.com:1290
No option for TCP configuration on Verizon

I am unable to get this working on mine...any other VZW users had success with this? Could it be that I have to use my Mac email address to log into AOL IM? Works fine on my PowerBook.

Thanks cbotd. Could be that is the problem. If I could just get all of my AOL buddies to get a Blackberry and use BB Messenger I would be set.

Great Avatar......Love DMB. Heading out to Red Rocks in September. Put in for all three nights through the WSHE but only got night 3. You going to make it to Bonner Springs?

From what I was told by RIM everyones firewall is enabled. Tell us more about your BES?

Does it allow MDS? When you go to Options ==> Browser how many options do you see in your default browser config and default MDS browser and what are they set to? When you go to Options => tcp is your APN filled in? Who is your carrier and what is in this screen?

I get the message: Invalid Connection String: Could Not Open Tunnel - Failed.

I am using a 7100g and am not on BES yet - using Redirector. I have tried the following TCP settings:

APN: isp.cingular
Username: [email address]
Password: CINGULAR1

also tried:
APN: wap.cingular
Username: [email address]
Password: CINGULAR1

also tried:
APN: blackberry.net (suggested by Cingular rep)
Username: (blank)
Password: (blank)

Any help would be appreciated.
