i have been getting that annoying message from rim "this message is used to carry data..." for almost a week now. im talking about 30 to 40 times a day. ive SEARCHED, followed all instructions and still cannon get it to stop. ive uninstalled my desktop manager, reinstalled it, wiped the device, deleted the email account that i keep receiving the email to for 24 our and it still shows up in my gmail. wtf. ive havent added that email back to my bis yet because i dont want the emails coming to my device and annoying me all day.

any help is greatly appreciated. i at one point had downloaded the personal bes but i uninstalled it last week. could my phone be backing itself from a previous backup point that was from a point in which the bes was still installed on my machine?

im going crazy here.

Also, delete the "desktop" service books from the device.

Delete the Desktop software and the service books from the device.

Re-install the Desktop software making SURE you hit the BIS button and NOT BES.

Yet you did not say you tried the solution posted in the link, just that you had tried what you had found in many forums, etc. I don't think you are "that dense", I think you are frustrated, were vague (and less than appreciative). We were trying to help.

You can contact RIM, they charge for Tech Support direct, unless transferred by your carrier. They will have you do the thing, as what is posted in our FAQ is the RIM-suggested solution for disabling those annoying messages. I know, I wrote the FAQ from their KnowledgeBase article.

Good luck.

i apologize for appearing to be less than appreciative. i am indeed very frustrated. i have tried everything mentioned in this thread, and all of the other threads that i have found here and elsewhere.

i dont want to pay for tech support. THIS SUCKS !!!!
