Default UMA Incoming Call Outage 11/19/07

Please Login to Remove!

I was sorry to see that the thread on the same subject for 11/11/2007 was closed by Mr. Clark once his problem was resolved. The problem has now come to the Washington, D.C. area. Same issues. T-Mobile is aware of and working on the problem. Don't have any idea when it will be fixed. If others are experiencing the problem of incoming calls going to voicemail, dropped or incompleted calls while on UMA please post date and area. Also, please report to T-Mobile ASAP.

I believe the thread was closed because the problem was recitified for the 11/11/07 outage, not because JC issue was fixed. Your issue may be similar but on a different date and city. Although I am not in DC, no problems here in Philly...

Excuse me, but the problems were also reported in Arizona as well as Connecticut and even Washington, D.C. in the thread. The moderator had at least 75% of the posts in the thread and didn't wait for the issues to be resolved in these other areas before closing the thread. I just want to insure that respondents are treated fairly and democratically.

Experiencing same problem I believe in Boston today. Simply cannot get the device to switch over to UMA. Wifi up, shows the name of the wireless network connected to, I've tried turning on and off the radios, pulling the battery, rescanning for new networks but still can't get EDGE to switch to UMA.

The original thread included D.C also? So you've had an outage for 8 days? If not, I would say the thread was closed due to the issue being resolved.

I closed the original thread because I PM'd the poster in Arizona and he told me his issue had been resolved (turned out it was another problem) and nobody else had really posted in the thread besides me. It wasn't to reject anyone from the thread or anything like that. A simple PM to me and I would have gladly reopened the thread.

That being said, my issue had to go all the way to UMA engineering dept where it turned out to be some kind of a communications issue between switches where my number originates and where I was located at the time. They finally found it and all has been well for me.

The issue that I had was that when on UMA callers would get a message saying that the number couldn't be completed as dialed. It wouldn't even take them to voicemail.

@rdcourtland, is the exact issue you are having?

@Dave (sgtcasey,) your calls are actually going to voicemail which is further than my calls got. Keep us updated on your trouble ticket.

@vwranger, your issue is different than either of these. You never even get UMA on the device. This is, 9 times out of 10, a router issue or certificates issue. If you go to a Starbucks can you get UMA to show up?

--It doesn't hurt to start a new thread anyway.

I've seen the calls go to voicemail without ringing when there's congestion and the call can't make it all the way through.....However, hard to believe it would last all day, though. I have heard that UMA can get a bit congested, too. Hopefully, it's fixed.

That was my expectation.. not enough capacity... I expect more issues during the 3 day "free flights" promotion with new people signing up...

My UMA has been ok. I suspect that we 'all' have issues some time of the day or other... We just may not see it because we aren't receiving a call that minute.

I've had calls go straight to VM. I've also had calls that my girlfriend has said she gets the message that "the subscriber has traveled outside of a coverage area...." or similar to that.

Vwrangler: If your phone continues to refuse to go into UMA see my thread:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...new-phone.html
My solution ended up being a new SIM card.
