Every time i try to receive a file from my brother LG CU500 cell phone, i get an error message saying file contains invalid characters. I have tried deleting all the words of the file name and re-entering the file name but i still get that error message.
please help me anyone

what kind of file is it? a contact from addressbook? music? picture? text?

Have him try renaming the files. It either doesn't like a character in the name or the file type is not recognized. Use a name without characters or spaces.

can ur Curve accept other files from the same phone? if it can, then it looks like it is with the 2 files that ur mentioning. if so,

what is the format of the music? .mp3/.wma/etc..

and the picture? .jpg/.gif/.tif/etc..

just out of curiousity you are selecting "receive using bluetooth" before the file is sent, and AFTER you paired with the other device

when you pair with the device are you setting your brothers phone to trusted under bluetooth options?

yes i am, every time his phone send me a file, the file name will appear in my pone and when i select OK it says file name contain invalid characters.

it is possible that the files from his phone are not compatable with the BB. the music, was it downloaded from ATT music store, or another source?

but that can't be true if the same file I'm trying to get from him was gave to him by my phone. i sent him a file but he can't send that same file back to me
