Default Run a report of users i removed from the BES?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone knows a way I can run a report showing me a list of users that I have recently removed from the BES?

I'm sure the logs will show this, though going through those may take a while!

We have been having some problems over the last 3/4 weeks, but has been particularly bad for the last 2 days, especially since our 2 heaviest bb users are the head and acting head of IT.....

We have been looking for a cause, and 2 things we noticed - we have been rebooting the server, which we found out we shouldnt be doing yesterday, as that causes big delays, plus, our licenses ran out yesterday, so had to remove all redundant users. that helped, when i removed the users who have left (and not their departments not told us), or simply users who havent swtiched their bb on in more than 100 days, I noticed a small floor of messages. then we started purging pending items with some users, and saw another flood of messages.

now one of the manager wants a list of users that I removed, which I didnt think to take down at the time

Cheers

This is not possible to do from the BES itself. As you say you can do it by looking through the logs.

It would be an idea to look at a single removed user in the logs to see how the BES logs a user removeal and then GREP a common phrase from that log in all your other logs to only show the removed users

cheers for the quick reply

thats what my only idea is really, as you say, see how the bes logs a removed user, and use that to search through the logs.

Well, I suppose i had better get cracking on with it!

There is a report pack by a vendor that does this .. it's a free download but you have to hear the sales pitch etc .. too much paperwork for me. Our contracts area would take a year to approve it.

Can you provide a bit more information regarding the vendor?

You could do this really easily with grep or a grep-like tool. Just find all the lines in the log files that say "User removed from the BES".
