Default Where is the Bold 9000/9700 replacement rumor?

Please Login to Remove!

I know I read something, somewhere, recently about a possible device that would have the functionality of the 9700 but the form factor of the Bold 9000.

I currently have an 8820 with a few problems, and I found that the 9700 is impossibly small to type on, but it's certainly speedy with a nice display.

Anybody have a pointer to a rumor that I can follow (in hopes that RIM produces another reasonable size phone in the near future) ?

I havent read that rumour; but I doubt it.
If they wanted the form factor of the 9000, then surely they would have mde the Bold 2, the same form factor with better specs.
I think the 9000 form factor is dead.

I think rider997 is referring to a post I might of started. I mentioned to somebody I asked about the 9700 since I was able to get it early through my corporate account with AT&T. Since I already have a 9000 if it was even worth getting since I need to renew my contract anyway, and somebody said to wait for the 9900 (I think he called it that perhaps) since it was more Boldish and the 9700 was more Curveish.

At this point, while I do love my blackberry, I am disappointed where RIM is taking the devices. The trackpads is one of the dumbest ideas I've seen. A blackberry is all about the trackball.

If I have to wait until next spring winter to get a new phone so be it, but once I see more realistic rumours about the Bold 3, I may have to get an iPhone in the interim.

I just hate the virtual keyboard!

I guess a couple of years ago you said "The BlackBerry is all about the thumbwheel".

I think the trackpad is fantastic. Even better than the thumbwheel on the 957...

So this is a rumor thread about another rumor thread

Some people like the larger form factors (I didn't like the 88xx or the 9000) but I love the 9700. With the trackpad (which is clearly the way RIM is taking the BBs)...

Especially with so many issues arrising due to the trackball, the trackpad is the logical way to go. I hate dealing with trackball issues at work, the trackpad has made my life much easier

Hopefuly it is sturdy and lasts a long time

You would have to think that potential mechanical issues of both the trackball and the trackwheel before it would have been part of their reasoning behind this move to the trackpad.
