You are going to trade in a Bold for a Pearl or Flip? Well, to each his own. I have a Pearl I would be more than happy to trade for a Bold! :D
Seriously, I had a Pearl but I have big thumbs. I gave it my wife and bought a Curve. She loves the flip-phone design, however, and wanted the 8220. So, that is being delivered on Monday.
So, I really do have a Pearl I will trade for your Bold!

Going from my 8320 w/v4.5.. to an 8220 with v4.6... the PearlFlip is sluggish compared to the curve.

I haven't had time to do much with it, but there is definately noticeable lags on the 8220 compared to my Curve/8320 and Pearl/8120 which I've upgraded to v4.5

my AT&T Bold seems pretty snappy and quick.

Chalk it up to software. I would go with a Bold.

Form factor, being happy with the suretype keyboard, and not really needing 3G, or doing much web browsing on a phone would be a few reasons to go with the 8220 Flip. Reminds me of my old Sprint SGH-i500 Palm Clamshell, but lighter, faster, and 16GB of Music !

I would say stick with the bold if you needed to hardcore internet (3g) and pure business functionality. The flip is one of the more sluggish Blackberrys ive used, but it still works none the less. Its good if you dont want to carry around a bigger(ish) phone. Still has the functionality of internet, albeit slower (Edge) and will still get your emails. And me saying all of this should be no surprise to anyone, so why am i even saying it. im done, i like my flip.
