Default Problem with email on unlocked 8220

Please Login to Remove!

I am using a new 8220 that I had unlocked by T-Mobile with my AT&T sim card that was in my AT&T 8120 Pearl. I have unlimited data BES service along with the phone plan. I had no problem getting the device up and running on the BES and I am receiving my corporate email and accessing the Internet. However, I cannot get my att.blackberry.net service to work. I tried to login to AT&T's BIS site and it wont even recognize my login. Plus, the external email application is not showing anywhere. I have already resent the service books from the BES without success. I figure I need to resend the BIS service books, but I cant figure out how to do this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You don't have a "Manage Internet Email" icon on the home screen? Have you tried going to Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table >Menu Key >Register Now?

did you call ATT and re-register the IMEI of your 8220? Either that, or 611 and tell them that your att.blackberry.net account isnt working and im sure they can troubleshoot it for you.

John - Yes - the icon for Internet email is missing. The registration was one of the first things I did. I get the "Your Blackberry has been Registered....." message in about 5 seconds each time I do that.

Noctem - I have never called a carrier when using an unlocked device from another provider for support. Will they work with me on it since they technically dont support it?

I know I could probably wipe and reactiviate, but I am hoping ot avoid that.

Thanks to both of you for your replies.

Finally got the issue resolved. Seems that when I switched to the 8220, it automatically created a new Blackberry BIS account on T-Mobile and associated my pin with it. It also locked me out of my att.blackberry account. I called AT&T and they were able to clear everything up. Once I was able to access the BIS site on my pc, I set it to the pin and IMEI of the 8220 and in a minute or two, the account appeared. I still do not have an icon for Manage Internet Email, but I have the web site saved on my BB and if I access it, I can set up new pop3 email accounts
