As many of you may know, Google Maps does not work with OS 4.5. I know Google is working on a solution, but nothing is promised soon.

I understand from one of the moderators (John Clark) that he is using version 1.6.4 as a work-around.

I cannot locate this early version of Maps. Would anyone have a suggestion as to where this could be found?

That is not entirely correct. GM works just fine on my device running 4.5.

Have you looked in one of the various GM threads for an earlier version? I recall someone posting a link to it.

I think, if I remember what I have read is right, Mr. Clark stated this issue seems to be one driven by BES. The Enterprise Activation is the hangup, so you are right, some 4.5 users don't have this issue.

And I have searched a fair amount in various forum threads, but have found no working link to earlier versions. I did see a note about Google having archived versions, but no luck in that search either.

Thanks to BobJ on the Google Maps forum, a link to 1.6.4 has been found:

1.6.4 has an active link that does indeed load the earlier Google Maps on BES 4.5 BB's.
I just downloaded and installed. Not as robust as v2.2, but it will do for now.

Works just fine on my 8310 with 4.5 and I am on BES.

It only happens to BES users who have an application control policy on their BES account. Not all BES users have this issue.

That link doesn't work. It doesn't go to 1.6.4.

I have a link for the 8320 but I don't have one for the 8100.

Thanks for letting me know, John. I tried to get to the download from the link but could not...When I went back to the Google group and hit the link, it went to the download. Not sure why...

It's in how you're copying it:

And, it's case sensitive.
