Default Can't hear the voice dial prompt "say a command"

Please Login to Remove!

I have a bit of a problem with my 9700 (aside from some of the other issues like freezing. New problem is when I hit the voice dial button the voice command done by the phone is muted, if I say my command it still works and finds the number but I have to look at the phone to see my name choices since I can't hear the command prompt by the phone, the part where it says "say a command" , the problem clears when I do a hard reboot but returns every day or two and will continue until I reboot again.

Anyone have the same issue?

I suspect you solve your responsiveness issue this one will solve itself.

Sorry if I'm a little slow today, but what did you mean by your reply?
I don't want to have to reboot everyday to resolve this

I think I posted in a thread after you regarding the freezing/unresponsive issue. I would look at the applications you have installed, aftermarket themes if you are running one, and apps you have open at the same time. It will be a process of elimination, isolate the problem. But if you have problems with the stock blackberry out of the box, the thing to do is go back to the seller.

OH, I get you now! ( the freezing issue). Strange thing is my phone is very basic since new, I have no themes, my wallpaper is still the providers, I have a few apps again after removing them last week to test the freezing issue, which by the way has been very good now!
My wife has the exact same phone, and hers has been better than mine even out of the box but even hers is having the voice dial command going mute on her when it is initialised.
Her phone was flawless when on .442, she now has issues with .656. I think I will return her phone to .442 to see how it goes.

One more thing, I always close my apps, the few that I use anyway.
Thanks for the help.

I started using it more now when driving, never had an issue with .442 so I will tinker with the os, maybe reload .656 on mine and downgrade my wifes to.442 which is what it had when we bought the phones.

To update.
My phone has rebooted 4-5 times now when i hit the voice dial key. Seems to do it every 3-5 days than its fine. What would cause that? I have no apps installed, no themes, bare stock phone with os .442.
I do have a blue ant hands free, that would be the only thing connected when the problem occurs.

Ahhh... You never mentioned the handsfree system before. And you say that's when the problems occurs, and only when it occurs.

I don't know the answer, but that's a big piece of info. Have you searched here and googled to see if other people are seeing it? What about contacting the accessory manufacturer and seeing what they know?

Sorry for the late reply, yes it happens mostly on hands free but that is because I only use voice dial on hands free when driving. If I am not mistaken I believe it also happended when not connected to the Blue ant handsfree.
Since my last post I have gone back down to .442 and removed all apps, no freezing, hesitating of any kind. Phone is working so good I love it.
I have for the past week installed some apps such as, Google maps, weather network short cut, weather eye, and all is well. The only apps left to replace is Pyont, and Gmail.
Keeping my fingers crossed because when this phone works, it works like a dream.

Poynt hasn't caused me any problems. I don't use google products and haven't for a long time.

Good luck. Glad you got it working for you.
