Default Wireless Woes

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,
I am having some trouble with a new BES setup. When i connect the blackberry directly VIA usb to the BES server, I can activate it and it will receive messages, policy etc. BUT when its on the wireless I cannot connect to it. But I don't really see how this works, is the PIN enough and the blackberry server can connect to the device? I think I also might have somthing misconfigured cause I cannot telnet port 3101 and get a responce...so maybe thats it.

Tips?
Will

Yes it does, but only while connected to the BES via USB. Once it is disconnected and has to rely on Alltel all communications fail. It can access the web and make voice calls however.

Thanks

Do you have an active Alltel BES data plan for that BlackBerry? Can you browse the Internet or send/receive BIS email?

There is a dataplan for the device, BIS, but I was thinking that aslong as BIS works the BES should as well. Do I need to contact ALLTEL and have BES activated for this device?

Thanks

I do seem to remember someone in our agency using an Altel BB that had the same problem. He had to purchase a different data plan (more expensive, of course) for his BB to work with our BES.

It seems that I've heard this same tale with another carrier (Cingular, maybe?).

Good Luck
