Default Verizon Curve users-Battery life?

Please Login to Remove!

Just a question for you verizon curve users. How long does your battery seem to last on a full overnight charge?? I use mine on the net maybe 5 min a day. Bluetooth a couple hours a day. 30-40 min in calls a day. Google mail here and there, but i don't leave it on, and i dont get more then 24-36 hours on a charge. With no bluetooth at all i can maybe get 2 days but thats with little talking/alot of standby. Heavy usage results in 16-18 hours. Whats your experiences? Does this sound normal?

Thanks..

Yes that's what I get. Before my 8330 I was using the 8830 which I could get atleast 2 days without charging with moderate use. But the 8830 has a much bigger battery than the 8330.
Cnet has a list.

I had the 8820 for about 6 months, and the difference between that phone and the Curve is very obvious.

I bought the Seidio 2600 extended battery for the Curve...

Wirelessly posted (BB 8330)

Same as above I got the bigger battery. I would get 8 to 10 hours from the regular size battery.

I don't talk on my phone much... but I do have it connected to the company BES. So I am checking emails on it constantly. I get on my gmail 6-7 times a day and I get about 3 days on a full charge. The battery life of this is much better than my Treo 700 got, so there are no complaints from me.

I charge mine nightly, but it's rarely below 75% charge. I'm browsing, receiving email and talking on and off throughout the day, probably 45-60 minutes talk time and an hour or two of everything else. Bluetooth is always enabled; I never shut it off on the BB.

It will last 2 full days if I don't charge it overnight, which probably works out to about 36-38 hours (8AM day one to 10PM day 2).

Looks like this is somewhat normal for people. I ended up buying 3 spare batteries for 24$ to somewhat resolve this issue for me. I like how sleek the phone is now so an extended battery is out of the question, and i hear the stock sized extended battery makes the battery door bulge? Ill just stick with rotating battery packs and live with the 36 hours i get now. Thanks..

I like to charge my 8330 everynight. Lately it has about 60% charge remaining when I put her on the charger. I am pretty happy with that.

Buddy of mine has Verizon and has the curve and he has been looking into an extended battery for a couple of weeks now. He uses his constantly all day every day for work and he said about the time he gets done working(8 hour day), he charges it on the way home(in the car) and lets it charge for about 30-45 mins @ home and he is good the rest of the night.

I have one for AT&T and I use mine constantly for email, SMS/MMS, and internet browsing(try not to talk on the damn thing too much, about less than 30 minutes a day), and mine will last a day or 2 on a full charge at least.

I just switched from a Windows Mobile phone, battery life was horrible would switch batteries at least once a day. I have my Verizon Curve now. I leave Google Talk and bluetooth on all day. I also average about 60 short phone calls a day. Usually my battery is about 65% when I get home which is fantastic as far as I am concerned..

Don't underestimate the Seidio extended battery for these things. I was very reluctant to order one because you had to replace the battery door and there is a decent buldge, but after using the it for a month, I actually like the feel the bigger/heavier battery provides for the device.

That, and the fact I can charge on Sunday night and go until almost Friday with moderate/heavy usage before I have to charge again.

Mine only lasts half a day on heavy phone volume if I dont keep it on the charger. I am probably going to need to get an extra battery and an independant charger so I can switch back and forth.

I read somewhere that CDMA phones consume more power than equivalent GSM phones. (Can someone confirm this?)

Coming from a Moto Razr that used 50% of the battery after 2 phone calls, I'm pretty pleased with only charging every 2-3 days. Your results may vary!

It depends HEAVILY, it seems, on radio conditions. If I'm staying within Verizon network coverage, I can spend 5 hours chatting on BB Messenger, and get through only about 15% of a charge in 18 hours (from morning until bedtime). If I'm roaming in even CDMA (but not Verizon) networks and only checking the time occasionally (no data usage -- ), it'll chew through 50-60% of a charge in the same time.
