Default Any GMail Users?

Please Login to Remove!

I have set my GMail e-mail up on my bb as one of my accounts. Everytime I send an e-mail it sends a copy of the sent item to my phone as a new message. Anyone else get this or know how to stop it?

Default You again, me again

How are you sending the gmail? I am using the new gmail software from google and I don't see anything like that although using that software it does not poll automatically, which is actually what I want. I poll my pop3 but check my gmail when I want to, does this help?

I was using it as a pop account. I am now downloading the gmail software now (I did not know it existed!)

You can easily set up a filter to prevent sent gmail being forwarded to your device. You can do this either on your device or through the BIS website.

A quick search on this site will give you more details.

Thanks.

Now I have the Google Mail programme on there it looks much better, but it is not auto checking for new messages, so I need to go into it and click refresh, anything I can do to change this?

Nothing can be done in the Gmail app to auto-notify of new messages. You can either set it up on your BIS and get notifications, or use the app and have to refresh. I personally had it set on my BIS before I started using a BES, and I never had the issue you were having. Make sure that in the gmail webpage, under settings, Email & POP Forwarding are enabled and that Archive Gmail's Copy are selected. On your BIS page, make sure a copy is not being sent to the handheld.

I had pop enabled and archive set.

Only way I have found round this for some really odd reason is to create a rule on my BIS that says if the 'From' field = my address then do not forward. Early tests have worked.

You just have to hit your menu button once in Gmail and hit refresh. Only option for now to see if you have new mail. I need to set my BIS also to stop getting those annoying copies sent.

Default Gmail Mobile via application loader

Hi- does anyone know if there is away to install the new Gmail Mobile program using application loader rather than OTA? I get all sorts of error messages trying to do it OTA. Thanks!

from your phone hit I, for refreshing, instead of using your scroll wheel.

To get back to your original question, the easiest thing is to setup the rule.

The problem is that Gmail makes your entire mail tree available to BIS and so the side effect is that sent items show as new items. If you email Gmail support, they can actually change this but most of the support people don't know this so getting someone that does is a bit of a crapshoot.

The easiest thing is just to do the rule... There's no downside that I know of.
