Can you default the BB 7280 to show inbox only? I do not want to see phone calls and emails I sent all of the time. I know that I can press control I to view my inbox but would like the default to be this way.

Yea, go into options and deselect phone.

This may sound really dumb but where in options is this setting at? What about the sent messages being in the inbox as well?

Go to the phone application, then go to options, and in options select call logging. Once selected it will ask if you want your phone logs to show in Message list.... Select NO

There is no way to do what you are looking for. It is called messages rather than inbox on the BlackBerry for this reason.
