Default BES Component Services

Please Login to Remove!

I got curious to see which account BlackBerry Services logged on as in Component Services. Some log on as the Domain\BlackBerry (Just calling the username on the Domain "BlackBerry" for simplicity.) and other components log as Local System. All start automatically. Anybody else have it set like this? It's not interfering with the normal operation and everything (usually) restarts on reboot; but I'm just wondering why some log as the Domain and others as Local.
  • Alert - Domain\BlackBerry
  • Attachment Service - Local System
  • Collaboration Service - Domain\BlackBerry
  • Controller - Local System
  • Dispatcher - Local System
  • MDS Connection Service - Domain\BlackBerry
  • MDS Services-Apache Tomcat Service - Local System
  • Policy Service - Domain\BlackBerry
  • Router - Domain\BlackBerry
  • Synchronization Service - Domain\BlackBerry
Also listing Domino and SQL services.
  • Lotus Domino Server - Local System
  • SQL Server - Domain\SQLAdmin
Do you run in a mixed "Log On As" environment or do all services start automatically under one type of account?

... this is why I hate domino ... it'll work either way.

In all the Domino environments I touch, I set the BES services to run as the same user that the Domino service runs as ... whatever it may be.

Does it impact the way BES runs? I'm guessing "not" since you're setting it that way.
What about startup? Do the Services start in a different order based upon the Log On As User? Do they start any faster or slower depending upon the User?

Correct it doesn't. The only one I have to watch out for is the User Admin Service as it reads keys from the registry so I need to make sure the account it runs as has access to the proper data (and the data exists).

Ya know, I'm really not sure about if they start in a different order ... if they run as Local System versus a user account.
