Question Red X When Attempting To Accepting Meeting Requests

Please Login to Remove!

Question:

I have a user who sometimes gets the "RED X" when attempting to accept meeting requests. It doesn't happen all the time but does happen. He sees the meeting request on BB, attempts to accept, and gets a RED X. The calander in the BB shows the accepted meeting but Outlook does not reflect the meeting.

Facts:
Model: 8700g
Service: T-Mobile
Platform: Exchange

Things tried:

1. Wiped device and resyncronized.
2. Recreated Out look profile.
3. Had account recreated on the BES server.

When these steps were last done about a month ago, it seemed to resolve the issue. But, client reports that it's happening again.

Have I missed something?

Thanks in advance for any advise.

I have the same problem. I haven't been able to tie it down to any specific location or cause.

If I try to accept a meeting invitation I often get the red X on my BB but BOTH calendars show the accepter meeting.

Default SP upgrade to bes

I had this issue with a 3.6.2 bes. I resolved this issue by installing 3.6 SP7 from their website. It seems that the cdo.dll files of late do not work well will 3.6.4 or older.

So Gino... after installing the 3.6 SP7 the issue was resolved? Also how many clients were affected?

Thanks

Default Service book update...

Also....

Someone on the BES team in my organization updated the Servicebook as per BB support hotline. He thinks this may resolve this issue...

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Will installing or updating the 'Service Book' on the device resolve this type of issue?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Default Same problem here...

I'm having the same issue with users on my BES. It was recently brought to my attention by one of our users and it turns out it's a fairly common issue amongst our users. We use wireless synchronization, BES version 4.1.3.18 and Exchange 2003. The devices are on Verizon and are all model 7130e.

The best description I have of the issue from the users is "7 out of 10 meeting acceptances won't go through". When they try to accept the meeting, it gives them a red X. Service coverage is fine, device is otherwise communicating fine with BES (properly relaying e-mail and contacts wirelessly).

we had this issue for a long long time, we were on exch 5.5, then moved on to exch 2003 .
Bes is 4.1 sp4. We had RIM look at this and after several weeks, several conference calls later, bes logs increased to 15, something was spotted in the logs

What it was it that users on the bes had delegates, the delegates were receiving a copy of the meeting request and deleting it.
So when the blackberry users accepted it on the berry is red x'ed. Accepting it on outlook was always ok
