the search feature has begun to give me fits. again.

whether i use the quick search from the menu, or select the advanced search, i get the "This page cannot be displayed" response, with the address http://www.blackberryforums.com/search.php. a refresh will reveal the advanced search page again, only to start a really annoying cycle.

i was having this problem some time ago, and honestly i can't remember changing anything to make it work. but one day it did begin working, and did so quite fine through yesterday. now, single word and phrase searches, and user id post searches all return the above errors.

i'm operating ZoneAlarm, and have tried various privacy tweaks, cache cleanings, IE file removal/cookie deletions - all to no avail. no modifications or system procedures/changes made overnight, between the search working and now, when it does not.

i appreciate any guidance, or suggestions (although "dump IE, get [insert alternate browser here]!" posts will be ignored).

to any admins who may read this, was there any site maintenance performed last night that may have affected this?

no maintenance was done. the search feature works fine here (not saying there isn't an issue with yours). i use IE. i don't have ZA installed. i do have Norton installed, although i don't have the worm protection installed. i use the built-in Windows firewall with XP SP2. i have a hardware router in place with the firewall enabled.

It is working fine for me and i ahve tried three different browsers, IE, Firefox, Netscape. I do not have Zone Alarm, but do have both a Hardware router, and windows firewall, as well as Nortons installed on my system. Could your security settings in IE be set too high to let things in, I have seen that problem in the past with some IE users.

i'd hardly call conforming to internet standards as useless. to be honest, web designers who create sites that are not compatible with Mozilla should be shot dead, as their code is incorrect. i will excuse those who use an ActiveX control, but if their tables don't align or something similar with strictly code, then they have an issue with the lack of a proper education on web design.
