Default Internet on the 7290?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way to get some degree of internet access (for instant messaging) without having to pay for T-mobile's over priced internet for BB?

Also, what does the "pin" do? I have one but don't know what its for..

My pin is 23c7b75f

Thanks in advance

If you install Opera Mini and configure the APN you can use a standard cell data plan. You wont be able to get email but you will have internet access.

The PIN number is a unique identifer for each BlackBerry. You can send text messages between BlackBerry devices using the PIN number. This does require a BlackBerry data plan.

So.. Instead of assuming I understand this, I'll clarify so I don't feel like a moron after this..

If I have Opera Mini I can get the cheap internet from TMO ($5) and have basic internet?

Well I broke down and got the data plan. I don't think I will be able to keep it. But I am going to grab all the cool OTA software I can. Anyone know of any ADD friedly software (time managers, better readers, etc.)
Thanks in advance

Now that I am on a data plan, can someone send me a pin message?

Thanks in advance!

Different strokes. I'm simply amazed that for < $20/mo I can access the internet anytime, anywhere, whenever I feel like doing it, as often as I feel like it. Email anywhere, any time! RIM releases an OS upgrade, just download and install, no additional charge! New apps are released (BB messenger, BBMaps, Yahoo messenger...), no additional charge to download and use. And BB Maps, it is only going to get better, no additional charge. I predict the value in terms of what is provided versus cost will only increase. --- I'm not a TMO or Blackberry salesman, though I try to spread the blackberry joy.

Wow. Well done! I am beginning to see what you are talking about. I can hook my 7290 to my laptop and it gives my laptop internet (thanks Mark Rejhon). I am now trying to talk the boss (my wife) into letting me keep the net. I think I have a good chance cause she buys $4 mocha twice a day, so the data plan is cheap by comparison.
