Hi everyone, im a new user of the blackberry and im coming from the samsung impression of at&t. while using the impression i was on the unlimited texting plan along with the unlimited data plan. Im wondering if i would need to change to a Blackberry data plan or the unlimited data plan is fine. Right now, the regular data plan seems to work fine except for the mail setup wizard function. i understand that i wont be able to use it because i would need the blackberry data plan.

but as for now, everything seems fine. but does anybody know if i'll be charged if i continue to use the applications such as facebook or the medianet?

Facebook app will/should not work unless you are on a blackberry plan. You won't be charged extra for things like that.. If it needs a blackberry plan, it just won't work

at&t will eventually see you have a blackberry and automatically add it to your account.
Switch to it anyway.

The lowercase edge (versus EDGE) means that you are not connected to the BlackBerry infrastructure. If you already have a data plan, why wouldn't you just go ahead and switch it to the proper BlackBerry plan? Doing so would eliminate most of the problems you are going to run into.

Look at the difference in price between the BBM and the Generic plan.

Then look at the differences in functionality. Trust me, the additional cost really is worth it.

I think you can get away with trying the Generic plan as a trial. If it works, then keep it until ATT decides they know better

Else, you can upgrade to a BB plan if you are not satisfied with what you get with the Generic plan.
