Thumbs down Attn : Sprint 8703 Users/software Problem

I just got off the phone with Sprint Blackberry support, and they tell me there is a software problem with the new 8703.

Its unable to send emails to cell phones. IE: [email address] , or any other carrier.

They are working on it and will have a software upgrade soon, maybe 3 weeks.

This problem started 2 weeks ago. They told me to call mid december.

For now, I added unlimited text msg to my account.

Call Customer Service and ask from Blackberry/Treo support for further info.

Interesting. It is working fine for me. I just sent a test email to myself, [email address] and received an SMS almost immediately. I have not tried any other carriers, however.

Broke for me.... I sent one to a Cingular user and they did not get it. I sent one to myself and did not get it.

i noticed the same thing on my 8703e with sprint. i havent contacted them, but keep us posted if you learn more.

For those that are not working (mine is) what is your BB OS version? Mine is v4.10.359 (Platform 2.2.0.166). My 8703e is about 3 weeks old.

v4.1.0.359 (Platform 2.2.0.166)-correction- Decimal was in the wrong spot.

Wow... after reading this I called to see if my SMS messages had been received (sent a few in the last 24hrs) and apparently not a single one has arrived at its intended destination - although in my message view they show up as having been sent (BB 8703).

My older 8700 keeps looking better every day.

I just used it. Worked great and it's free for personal use. They do add a teleflip.com signature at the bottom of your message.
