If you bought a device license for JiveTalk ($20) then you can't transfer it to the new phone.
The device license is tied to the PIN number of the BlackBerry.

If you bought a user license for JiveTalk ($30) then you can use it on the new phone.
The user license is tied to you, no matter what BlackBerry you have.

and thats the case for replacement phones as well? i thought you could use the application on more than one phone for the 30 dollar license, but i paid 20 for a license for a year, so if i have had it for 2 motnhs and the phone breaks, why should i ahve to pay for another license for the remainding 10 months.

just incase anyone else is interested, i knew this was around here somewhere:

Usually you just have to pay the difference between the device license and the personal license to transfer it. Contact them and ask nicely, they will explain it to you.

Just contact them and explain your situation. Maybe they'll bend the rules for you if you don't act like they owe you something. Be nice.

Remember, you chose to buy the device license instead of the user license. It's not their fault that your BlackBerry needed to be replaced.

How about other software like eoffice? I am upgrading from the 8830 to 8330 and am not sure how to move all the stuff. This thread is the best my hour of searching the forums has come up with.

Thanks.
