Default location tracking/logging questions

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I have some questions about the tracking of locations where blackberry emails have beens sent from. Forgive me if this information is obvious or has been discussed elsewhere, but I have only limited technical knowledge and can't find it anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For reference, my questions concern the use of a BlackBerry 8700G, on the T-Mobile Network. I don't have the full BES program, but rather a desktop version.

My main question is, is there anyway for me to get information concerning where I have sent emails from on my BlackBerry. For example, if I sent an email on my BlackBerry from a Starbucks in Phoenix, AZ, can I later prove to someone that I was in Phoenix when I sent the email? I'm pretty sure the cell tower location that the email was sent from is available, but I don't know how I would get that information. Is that information available on full versions of the BES software? Would we need to get that information by contacting T-Mobile? RIM?

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

How are you sure of that?

I am not aware that any of that information would be available either.

I believe only RIM or RIM employees would know that positively.

I wonder if one might come here and post in a public forum details of what kind of information is available on their servers, known to be one of the most secure systems on the planet.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Its possible to get info as the carrier would be able to use towers however to get that info the courts would have to subpoena it they won't just give it to you
