If you still have the PIN, maybe you can call TMO or RIM to see if they can block the unit. I don't know about the unlocked phone part but any BlackBerry usage MUST go thru RIM somewhere and if the PIN is blocked, the most it can become is an unlocked GSM phone.

And I do feel for you. You got ripped off. Obviously by a POS who has done this before. That's why at least with eBay, you can file a gripe with PayPal. I don't buy any electronics this way simply for this reason. And I won't buy any electronics (outside of a battery or two) on eBay. Too much risk involved.

I also realize that these type of deals are at your own risk, I guess that's why guys like this do things on forums that offer this type of service.

I've been a forum mod for other sites before so I understand what you have to put up with and I apologize for jumping to conclusions, I shouldn't have done that.

I also went back and fixed my language as it wasn't appropriate either, I was just extremely aggrivated at the time and now I have to figure out how I'm going to get a new Blackberry as I have to have one for work.

I just want everybody else to beware of this guy, especially since he is a repeat offender. I'd really like to post his personal information but I'm not going to do that.

This guys idiocy doesn't stop. Thought I'd give an update, he has now tried to hack into my ebay and paypal accounts... Idiot obviously doesn't know that IP addresses are attached to those sort of requests and being an IT guy myself I know how to trace those back and also managed to get a little more information then normally accessible through one of my contacts in the industry. I'd post up the information I found but there is personal information there and I'm sure the mods don't want that up here. Oh yeah and the background check was quite entertaining, this guys has alot of crap in his background, he wasn't even smart enough to give me a fake name. Once I get over the fact that I got screwed this will turn out to be quite fun.

I'll keep y'all updated as things develop, I've got a meeting with my lawyer on Monday to discuss this wonderful example of a human.

I've had a few other people send me PM's saying he has tried this with them as well. He apparently is also telling people he is a police officer which is not true at least according to tax records that I received this morning. So on top of theft we can also add impersonating a peace officer/public servant which in Texas is a felony.
