Default T-Mobile's New Data Plans

Please Login to Remove!

This might be interesting for people interested in just getting e-mail to the BlackBerry. Reported by Boy Genius:

Just when you thought they couldn’t get any cheaper….T-Mobile is set to completely revamp their data plan lineup with a new pricing scheme that is sure to make subscribers swoon. Beginning tomorrow, September 12th, the big Pink will be dropping updates to their BlackBerry and Total Internet plan offerings. The Total Internet add-on, which includes unlimited web browsing and data service for devices such Wing and Dash, will drop from $29.99 to $19.99. Sweet! The BIS add-on will remain at $19.99 for customers in need of the full BlackBerry email/web browsing experience. For anyone simply looking for an email solution, however, things are about to get very interesting. T-Mobile is launching a new BlackBerry add-on plan that will give customers access to any BIS-accessible email accounts for $9.99 a month. All web browsing and secondary data access will be blocked, but for a 10-spot, it’s hard to argue with the lack of frills. Not bad at all. The bad news (you knew there had to be something) is that the standalone BIS option, as well as the standalone Total Internet Plan, will go up to $39.99 from $29.99. Curiously, this makes the BIS and BES standalone packages identical in price. We’re not sure if T-Mobile HotSpot Wi-Fi access will still be part of the Total Internet package, but we’ve seen nothing to indicate that it won’t still available to subscribers. These new plans will be available via retail channels tomorrow and on T-Mobile.com by the 16th of September. All you FlexPay customers can expect to see changes by the 16th.

I wonder if the price increase is due to the fact that I use 300-400 MB's on my BB standalone plan with them haha. I'm sure my usage had nothing to do with it, as T-Mobile has been increasing price plans as it gains more and more customers. They decreased minutes for their 39.99 plan, and now they are increasing the BB standalone plan. It's about time, I mean, T-Mobile customers have been getting away with murder compared to Verizon and ATT customers

the price did not go up with you have a voice AND data plan. They only raised the price for data-only plans.

But if you did have a time machine, you probably wouldn't need a BlackBerry though.

The reason i asked is because of the date given (16th). I thought there might be a way to get the old price until then.

How about mobile opera? also theres supposed to be data limit on the 9.99 plan right? what if you go over that limit using 3rd party apps?

Here is my update... I rebooted the device that has the $9 email plan on it today... Email is working fine and BBMessenger is working fine... I have seen NO extra data charges on my account yet for the BBMessenger use...

BBWeather, Beyond411, and PDSports NO longer works....

I wonder if T-Mo fixed a hole???

I'm sticking to my $19.99 unlimited data, email it self will not make me happy.

I am actually moving to T-Mobile's BlackBerry Minutes and Mail Plan. Since I am not a big talker, I don't need a lot of minutes. For $59.99 you get unlimited data and text messages, along with 1000 Anytime minutes. This will save me at least $15 per month.
