Geez I hate patent trolling companies. Unfortunately, pretty much all the major guys do it these days - it's become necessary in big business as a defense mechanism (Don't sue me, or I'll sue you).

The irony is that patents are meant to be a mechanism to encourage innovation by providing authors the right to benefit from their creations (thereby positively re-enforcing the creation of new content for the benefit of society) yet it seems all they are used for today in the corporate world is to stifle innovation which ultimately harms society.

On a related note, if you are not supporting the Electronic Frontier Foundation (eff.org), you should be

What's the difference between a lawyer and a catfish??

One is a bottom dwelling scum sucker and the other is a fish...

Maybe a judge will see the case and tell NTP to shut up. the big boys got enough cash they could drag the case on till NTPs owners die!! Hope NTP loses greedy farts

I hope NTP likes losing. Just where do they think any future profit for them will come from if they win?

I just hope its a different judge from the one with NTP vs RIM.

I really hope something is done about the NTP guys.

BTW, whatever happened with RIM appealing? I know they settled but their in some sort of appeal process right? I just hope they don't have to pay those deadbeats all that money.
