Default BlackBerry Appliance

I just noticed today RIM has a RSS feed for "BlackBerry Appliance" under BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Has anyone heard anything?

Perhaps they refer to Steel Cloud's appliance?

Nice. I do like appliances but I wonder just how the mad world of BES will work in a little box. It will be interesting to see if anyone has got this implemented well in a large userbase.

I spoke with the Steel Cloud folks at length last year at WES. Not a bad thing for somebody standing up a new environment, but as for me with already 4 BES operational I couldn't see how it would help me.

Only advantage would be you can blame them, LOL

LOL I don't see them tagetting us lot, we get paid to take the blame . I would imagine it's more for greenfield setups as Alan says and smaller places which would have used BPS in the past. I have worked in many places where pachaging the tech into an appliance has allowed us to adopt something we never could/would have with the trad server route. The extra you pay for their support is offset against letting them take the blame, as knotty says .
