Default Battery Get Loose Causing Reboot

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone have a problem with their battery getting loose and causing the phone to reboot? It happened a lot to me, and I am now on my third blackberry bold. The first one it was an OEM one, and second was unbranded and was actually perfect but the logic board fried and had to get a new one. That was also an unbranded one, and the battery has the same problem.

I read on various websites this is an apparent problem. I put a thermal pad I took from my office (we are in the electronics business) and it seems to do the trick. But I am sick of using remedies. Why does the battery keep getting loose?

Is it the battery or the mechanism that keeps it in? Is there a more permanent solution, because each time I do a battery pull, I loosen the double stick tape on the pad causing me to get some more and reseal it. While it works because it gets the battery stuck to the compartment as the millimetre gap causes the battery to move ever so slightly causing it to be dislodges for a second causing the phone to turn off and reboot.

Am I the only one with this problem?
Any suggestions? I really don't want to exchange it again since it is an unbranded one and it took two-three weeks to exchange/RMA the one before this. Ugh!

this has been a problem on BB devices for a while i believe.
the old business card taped to the back cover usually works.
and people are happy with that fix.

Not sure if it works on the Bold but You could always use "Alt+LeftShift+Enter" to be a substitute for a battery pull.

I believe you mean Alt + Right Shift + Del

However, the OP isn't trying to do a battery pull. He is trying to prevent the device from resetting due to the loose battery. The business card trick should help.
