Default 8900 Keyboard problems

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys I tried to search for a similar issue but couldn't find what I was looking for. I've just upgraded from a BB 8310 to the 8900 Javelin last month. So far I love the phone, although i have to get used to the new keyboard. I've noticed within the last couple of days that some of the buttons are no longer working. Sometimes while I'm typing using alt + another key, the key doesn't show up and I have to retype it and it works fine. Another thing I noticed now is that I can no longer do the shortcut alt + esc to see the running programs. The esc key works as far as exiting out of things but I can no longer do this shortcut at all. I've read about people having wobbly keyboards but I don't think I have one. This phone has not been dropped or had any water on it, unless you count sweat. I just put an Incipio case and screen protector on it a couple of days ago. I'm not sure if this is what affected the keyboard. Any insight is appreciated.

This is locked to T-Mobile and I do have insurance on it. I think i purchased it early to mid-April.

BBOS 4.6.1.114

Installed 3rd-party apps:

AppleBerry Theme

FlipSide
BeeJiveIM
Slacker Radio
SuperPages Mobile
MySpace I have this twice (this came with the phone and I can't uninstall it....unless I wipe it)
Google Sync
VR+ Voice
Google Maps
Gmail
Google Mobile App
QuickPull
Viigo
BlackBerry App World
Handango InHand (I couldn't uninstall this either...it came with the phone)
Facebook
TeleNav GPS Navigator (came with the phone, couldn't uninstall)
Poynt
BeWeather

Just mentioning the apps in case by some miracle there is a conflict. I don't want to have to return the phone, but I will if necessary.

Also do you think this can be solved with a firmware update? Thanks!

I suspect ur Incipio case might be depressing one of the side buttons.

Good call! I have the SILICRYLIC by Incipio and it contains a custom fit hard acrylic shell with a soft touch silicone core. When I removed the hard acrylic shell, I was able to finally switch between running apps again with the keyboard shortcut. Thanks!
