Default Enterprise Activation using Simulator ?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have installed BB Email and MDS Services Simulators(4.1.2), BES (4.1.6) and BB simulator 4.2.2 (8830) on same system. I connected the Simulator to BES via USB-connect and then successfully tested the Enterprise Activation by following method.

1. Add user in BB Manager on the BES server
2. Attach that BB Simulator to BES (USB connected).
3. Assign the device to user.

After this step, enterprise activation on Simulator starts automatically and ends successfully, u can see it when u go to Options->Advanced Options->Enterprise Activation. When I send email to this user, emails are delivered to Simulator successfully. But I want to test Enterprise Activation on Simulator using this method (Wireless Activation).

1. Add user in BB Manager on the BES server
2. Set activation password by right clicking on added user and then select "Set activation password"
3. Connect the Simulator to BES via USB-Connect
4. And then in BB Simulator , go to Options->Advanced Options->Enterprise Activation" and then enter user email and activation password given in step 2.

I am getting the error "Activation request failed.A Service connection is Unavailable" on Simulator screen on step 4.

please tell me the procedure if it is possible to test Wireless Enterprise Activation using Any Simulator.

I don't use the sims but I can't see how they would be able to, as the wireless EA needs to talk to the mobile carrier. If you "simulate" that, all you could possibley be doing is skipping that, as I can't see how the interaction between the BES, RIM and the BB using the mobile network could realistically be simulated. Someone who uses the sims might chime in and say I am wrong but I can't see any value in simulating something which 100% needs a the mobile network to be there.

Is there maybe something you are trying to achieve/answer which we could assist with more directly, as i can't see what you gain from simulating the OTA EA.
