Default HELP! New media card AHHHH!

Please Login to Remove!

Just got my new 2G media card. Trying to install it in the back of the BB...it just won't go. It doesn't seem to want to lay down flat enough to let the door close flat and lock. What to do????

The card goes into the door itself.

Thank you soooo much. They should tell you that so you do not destroy the spring steel little door. I knew I could count on this forum.

Got it in works fine.

Did it recognize the card when you inserted it? It should.

You might try a battery pull with the card still installed. That just worked for someone else in a recent post.

Gonna pull battery. I thought it would say something that it recognized something new but do not think it did.

Be right back.

Are you putting it in correctly? Contacts down? When you insert a media card, your device should display a message indicating same. If it didn't, it may not be in there right.

It's likely a bad card (or maybe it got damaged when you tried to insert it). But you can try it with an adapter on your computer to make sure.

Most cards come with an adapter, but if yours didn't they are easy to find at most stores and if your computer doesn't have an SD card slot, then you will need a card reader.

I got two adapters with my card but neither look like they will work with my PC. Would they work via a USB connections? No SD slot.

Update:

After much frustration I went to Wal Mart tonight and bought an extra SanDisk 2GB card and a card reader. Tried to format my existing Dane Elec card on PC with card reader...no go. I suspect it is crap.

Tried my new San Disk card in BB Curve first and it recognizes it AND no formatting. It shows 1.8G free memory space. YEAH!!

I contacted crackberry.com about the card not formatting and they gave me a link to dane elec. I sure hope crackberry does not blow me off as I would like a refund OR another card. They show a 30 day money back satisfaction warranty. We'll se how things progress.

Thanks to all on here for your help and patience with me.
