Default Blackberry Browser problem

Please Login to Remove!

I have a weird Blackberry Browser problem.

I have an 8830 and can use the Blackberry Browser just fine. However, I have staff who have 8703's, 7290's, 7280's, and 7250's all of which can not access any web site through the Blackberry Browser. They are fine if they use the Internet Browser.

One idea I had is that my 8830 is just using the Internet Browser, but alas our web filter is blocking me from going to nra.org or whatnot, making me think that I am still using MDS.

I called RIM and after looking at it for a hour or so they fell back to "You need to load the latest BES service pack." I was working fine and made no changes so I have no idea why this happened. I don't mind upgrading yet I would like to know if anybody else has experienced something like this.

I experienced something like this and it was on an 8700G with BES 4.1 SP3. I checked every setting change i made. I restarted the MDS services and it tried to connect. I rebooted the server and once the mds services came back up, it worked. I too cant explain the sudden impact.

I upgraded to SP4 and since then, hasnt been a problem. I suggest you perform this on a test server before upreading

Do your users have the IPPP Service Book?
What happens if they try to use the BB Browser?

I had the same issue with the Blackberry Browser. I found that it was a proxy server issue. The BES was running through our proxy to hit the internet when we removed it and let it go straight to the internet this fixed the issue.
I found this out when I was working on the DST problem, none of the Blackberries would connect to the internet when I sent out the OTA patch.
