Default Unable to connect to the selected mobile data service.

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys,

I have a friend who owns a 8320 from her work under BES data.

She uses Jivetalk and it's been telling her to upgrade to 1.05 from the 1.03 version. When she selects "Yes" it automatically sends her to the browser which is stuck at "Request" for a minute before showing the message "Unable to connect to the selected mobile data service. Please try again later."

If she chooses not to upgrade Jivetalk and clicks "No" another message will pop up requesting to connect with her MicroSD card. Then the phone will freeze for few minutes, Jivetalk will close and the phone will Time Out.

I've tried to Upgrade Jivetalk with my account by using my BIS plan but I encountered the same problem with unable to connect via the browser.

Does anyone have any solution to this problem?

My guess is there is an IT Policy on her BB preventing it from installing. No way around it, unless she talks the BES Admin/IT Staff into allowing her to do it.

Could be a bad file. Did you try to install via DM and the app loader?

The IT policy will be in effect no matter who's SIM you put in. On her device, go to Option > Security Options > General Settings. Right above "Services" there will be another section "IT Policy Name:" if there is one on her BB. If it's there the only thing to do is have her ask her IT people to let her have an exemption and install the app.

Never it's fixed. Just had to set the browser to "Internet Browser" instead of "Blackberry Browser".
