Default Having 2 problems with my 8800

Please Login to Remove!

So this phone was supposed to be unlocked and brand new, but it's obviously been used on the Orange network in the UK because I can't get it to cooperate on AT&T at all. I've already added the required data plan so that's out. I've tried several different OS versions and the same Orange splash screen pops up every time. It even dials the +44 prefix by default and the time is default set to the UK time zone. Is there something hardwired into this device I don't know about?

Second problem, I spilled juice onto my keyboard (we've all abused at some point) and either the trackball board or something on the keyboard is causing it to select whatever the cursor happens to be hovering over. It doesn't always do it but when it does it makes the phone nearly unusable. Are there any cleaning instructions (i.e opening the case) that might help? If not, what parts would I have to replace? Everything else works fine.

The splash screen is not changed by the handheld OS.

To correct the +44, go into the phone dialer, go into Options, Smart Dialing and change it from +44 to +1 (for the US)

And liquid damage is very tough on a BlackBerry. I can't imagine what juice did to it.

Understood, if you can link me to instructions on how to disassemble the unit i'd be most appreciative.
