It doesn't help when something is only available with DRM from iTunes, but whenever I'm looking to buy digital music, I check Amazon as well. All their mp3s are straight mp3, no DRM. iTunes also has some music in iTunes Plus, which is more expensive, but also DRM free. The other benefit of both, other than no DRM is that they are encoded in a higher bitrate, so can sound better as well.
