You can pay to have it unlocked.....although I hear that can be a cumbersome process. I got my 8830 from Verizon for $29.99 on a 1 year contract. Of course, to replace it within that 1 year, would cost full retail.

It will not work on T-Mobile. It is a CDMA phone, and T-Mobile is a GSM provider. It would be like sticking a square peg in a round hole. It will not work.

Sorry, just had to clarfiy this.

I would love this phone.

Will I be able to use it on my Verizon network to replace my own damaged 8830?

If so, I am interested.
