Default DM 4.6 on XP for Bold

Right,

Never had this problem with the 8800 so no idea what the damn thing is trying to do.

I installed the software from the Disk AFTER de-installing the previous applications used for the 8800. Wen through the process, did everything it told me, exactly how it told me, and it connected happily to the Bold.

Then, I un-plugged the bold from the USB Cable as I had a call. Finished that, re-connected it, and the software refuses to recognise that the Bold is connected. When I try the "connections" option, it only allows USB or NONE. Nothing else. I've shut the software down, re-started it and re-connected the phone, and still nothing.

HOWEVER, and this is the odd part, the phone still shows that it's charging, and it does. So it IS pulling the power from the laptop to charge itself, it just won't connect to the software. It also allows me to "use the device as mass storage" quite happily. It allows me to explore both the device memory and the media card.

Now, I de-installed everything thinking it might be a dodgy install, downloaded the DM software 4.6 and re-installed everything. Straight off the bat, it connected to the phone, recognised it and I installed a theme via the application tab in the DM software. I unplugged the phone again, to check the theme, and then when I plugged it back in, I'm back to the same problem of it NOT being recognised.

Now, I don;t moan about many things, but having to de-install and re-install the software for every single connection seems a bit wrong :D

Any advice guys?

p.s. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the USB drivers, so I've checked for updates and there all fine *shrugs* - Also, could it be some kind of reg file storing the old blackberry pin and therefore not recognizing the new pin due to confliction?

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

You used 4.6 DM with your 8800?

No, I think it was 4.5 - although I wouldn't "guarantee" it. That could be the case, but I didn;t think it worked with the 8800?
