I wiped my device using JL_cmd.

I open Desktop Manager, and started to install my new OS. I get to the point where it says, Connecting to boot ROM, it just sits there, and then finally says a fatal error has occured. I tried this with new OS 4.5.0.51, and also with the OS i had prior to wiping, OS 4.3.127. I dont know what to do. Someone, PLEASE help me

Remove the battery from your device then plug it into the computer and run the Application Loader like normal. About halfway through the process put the battery back in and the back cover back on making sure to not unplug or move the USB cable connection.

Same problem but at EXACTLY when do you put the battery back in?

i have a picture of a battery with a line through it, when the battery is not in. I cant even get the application loader started this way.. does it just need to be plugged in for a bit? and when should the battery be plugged back in exactly? thanks

didnt quite work for me, but i DID fix it. Heres how:

- Removed battery
- Plugged BB into comp without battery
- Opened Desktop Manager
- Opened Application Loader
- Clicked Add Software
- It then asks you to select a device - There are NONE listed (Keep this OPEN)
- I then plugged in the battery, while still connected
- It quickly shows a device in the list, as USB: UNKNOWN
- IMMEDIATELY after seeing that, click OK.
- Then it works, dunno how or why, but it did. I'm now running OS 4.5.0.51 on my 8330 Verizon and loving it.
