I am trying to wipea pearl 8100, it has the red light flashing. the flashes comprise a group of three and then a group of two. I have been unable to connect using Win 7 - I got port not found. So I an using an Apple MAc with XP installed. Now I seem to have a connection however I am getting debug: HRESULT error durimg opening 80040154. I don't know whether this is a Mac internal thing. I have tried 3 differet USB leads on the Win 7 PC and still not obtained a response. Any advice will be welcome.

Thanks

Hi I have found the following: using the BB apps loader the only port it sees is COM3 on further investigation the PC ( Sony TZ11N) has a USB hub, I have seen elsewhere that this can create problems. I have tried to find a workaround with my limited knowledge of Win 7, is there a workaround or is there any experience of JL_cmder working on Mac?

Works for my private Blackberry 8800 that I used for work. The security policy demanding a long password is now gone and I can now resume using it privately.

Thanks.

Help! Am trying to use JL_cmder to download data from my BB Bold (sorry - no idea what model) which has a JVM 102 error. Have just tried to download version 4 but when I try to run it I simply get a black text box flashing up so quickly I can't read it and then it disappears again. How can I actually get the thing to work? I've tried the original version already but have a 64 bit OS with Vista and so that one won't work either.
Thanks

For those ppl who got the flash of the command prompt screen and unable to use the program, here is how to execute the program manually. Go to C:\Program Files\JL_Cmder and run the file JL_cmder.cmd manually. It worked for me.

Just to say I have just got the whole thing fixed - hooray! The problem turned out to be that I didn't have Java on my computer, but I just paid a local computer chap to come and fix it, he downloaded Java and then the JL_cmder worked. We then found that I had several different 102 errors - we had to run the process 4 or 5 times deleting files along the way and suddenly it got up and running. So if anyone else is going through this and feels a bit clueless in terms of how to get the data back, I would highly recommend getting someone over who understands it - though he couldn't have done it without the info on the JL_cmder in the first place, so thank you very much indeed.

Hi .. I just purchased a used Blackberry Bold 9700 from the market. I cant setup my Email. On email setup there is only option to work email account with BES. I used JL_cmdr to reset to factory setting (to remove any IT policy if it has) but even after that no change. I am using OS 5.
Anybody Please help........................

If your mobile service provider supports BlackBerry data service, you need to purchase a BlackBerry data plan.

Yes my service provider supports Blackberry Data Service but that is expensive than general data plan. Can't i use General data plan to work with my BB?
Secondly according to the owner's manual all the options to set my email are not availaible. I have only one option that is "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server". There should be other options. I have tried to revert to factory settings but nochange.

hiadell, you won't see the BIS option until you sign up for a BB Data Plan.

Yes, you must have a BB Data Plan, NOT a generic data plan.

I have absolutely NO IDEA how this JL_Cmder works or what it does. I downloaded it, I double clicked on it, it asked me if I wanted to install it, I said yes, then it vanished. So - what the hell do I do now? Tried this about 5 times on two different computers!

No idea? Sounds like you may not have read the OP all the way through.

Perhaps the most frequent use of JL_CMDER is to wipe a device. Not wipe user data; but wipe the device software. Amother useful function is remove an IT policy (see conditions at blackberryfaq.com).

I'm not at a computer to look and it's been a long time. Unless someone posts the location of the executable, search for it. Or, it may not have installed, if you don't have sufficient privileges, or did run as administrator.
