Default T-Mobile Policy Change; Calendar charged while travelling abroad / Avoiding Data Char

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I'm speaking w/a TMobile Rep right now, who tells me that as of April 29th, 2009, the $19.99 / month feature that gives you unlimited email no longer covers outlook calendar sync.

MOreover, he said that this would start incurring charges when you travel abroad, but they did not inform any of their customers of the policy.

I have no idea if he is correct or not, because he will not give me a web page that spells out the policy, or email or fax me the service conditions.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Also, is there an easy way to set the blackberry so that when i travel abroad, it only uses data services that are included in the $19.99 plan? If not, this would be a killer ap, if someone would develop it.

What Outlook calendar sync do you speak of? For a personal BIS account user?

I highly doubt that CSR is correct.

Default Bes

I pay the extra $10/month for BES.

I also doubted that he was correct (he was reading from the screen often and contradicted himself occasoinally), but i asked to be transferred to a supervisor, and she also confirmed the recent policy change.

Maybe she got it wrong too, but she did specifically say that email would be covered but contacts/calendar would no longer be covered, and upon pushing gave me an estimate of $.25 for a calendar change.

The only way they could give me to guarantee to no charges through calendar/contacts synchronization was to disable all synchronization, but when i asked if that that would disable email as well, they conceded it would.

So i'm going to go ahead and not disable synchronization, and simply hope that i do not get hit with a lot of charges..

I'm going to London tonight, and will post next week the outcome...
