First post guys and girls.

BB Curve 8530

Just upgraded lastnight to Device Software Version 5.0.0.1000. I had my left side key remapped to lock my phone and then unlock by hitting the * and send key.
This worked for me and had been for many BB's including this one. After the update I no longer can do this and it is not listed in the screen/keyboard options. All remappable options are there except my beloved left side key lock function.
I now have to hold down the * key for lock and unlock by hitting the mute key which I don't really think is good enough to ensure accidental phone calls to Thailand aren't dialed.

Any help would be appreciated.

That's the way it is in OS 5 now.

Try pressing the "mute" key on the top edge. When you're on the phone, it's a mute key; when you're not on the phone, it locks the keyboard & turns off the display.
