Default Wireless synchronization not working for Outlook contacts and calendar

Please Login to Remove!

I have a new BB 9700 which was initially set up by someone else and this has caused several problems.

1) When I read a message in my Outlook inbox, it does not show up as "read" on the BB.

2) The wireless synchronization options for the contacts and calendar show up "not available" and "no" under the options function. They are grayed out and unable to be changed.

I have everything lined up correctly with the BB Desktop Manager but still having issues with the device.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you on BIS or BES?

In general,

If you are on BES - those items should function. If you are on BIS, default sync is as follows:

Users on IMAP email accounts...if you read a message on the BB, it should show as read on your comp, same as if you delete a message on the BB, it should be deleted from your IMAP inbox. However, vice versa is not the case.

That's all that is synced on BIS by default

Wirelessly posted

Some email providers have been upping the game recently.

Gmail/Yahoo, have contact sync, while the initial setup is flawed it does work. Calendar is in the works soon.

Also GMail/Yahoo have 2 way sync, while GMail sync is fairly slow it is there.

Unfortunately, the Yahoo 2 way sync is broken right now....

I have just purchased a new 9700 and upon trying to sync to PC received an "intellisync box message saying that no applications have been configured" . I have BB Desktop Manager which worked my contact/calendar outlook synchronization perfectly with my former 9000. Does anyone have any ideas or knowledge of how to solve this problem.

In other words I am not getting any synching with the new 9700 due to unexplainable message as per above.

In the future please open your own thread especially when they do not relate to the OP's issue.

In your case, you need to configure the synchronization in the Desktop Manager, it doesn't automatically choose the sync options. You can configure the desktop manager with the synchronize option on the left side.
