Everyone keeps saying the 8700 is the next 7100, but its not! I have a 7100t and love it, but I like it because of its form factor. It is much more like a phone than a blackberry. The 8700 is the opposite. I want RIM to keep with the phone form factor, and wonder what is next. I like the 7130 and wonder if that will ever make it to GSM or is it strictly a CDMA phone?

Default 7105t

Check out Blackberry.com for the 7105t that's the new rev for T-mobile. Nothing to spectacluar about the change. Slightly thinner and heavier. it also supports MMS (multimedia messaging), but so does the 7100 with 4.0.2.

OK, here's a spin on the original question: has anyone heard anything about an upcoming 7105g for Cingular?

I have seen the new cing 7100 and the 8500. Both are nice. The 7100 has upgraded RAM and will support EDGE. That's about it.

Will the new 7100 also have the indoor/outdoor screen? What about a 7100 with the faster (and hopefully more stable) processor? Also, when can we expect a release of the 7100 upgrade? I can't give up suretype -- the 7100 series remains the best combination of business and consumer function in one device.

I have a 7105T....the newer version.

Yes, the screen has a second, more brighter option.

Default 7105T with EDGE?

I was talking to a buddy of mine at T-Mobile and he was saying 3G is coming in January. Does anyone know if the 7105T is EDGE enabled?
